Historical Fun for October 16th

HISTORY FACTS FOR OCTOBER 16th

On This Day In History In 1923, the brothers Walt and Roy Disney founded the Walt Disney Company.

Fun Fact: Walt Disney's body was cryogenically frozen in the hope of being brought back to life in the future.

Yeah, that'd be crazy, even for Walt Disney. Unfortunately it isn't true. It's just a myth. And for some reason, quite a common myth.

Records show Walt Disney was cremated in 1966.

Then abducted by aliens and is now living on their home world telling them stories of 7ft genetically engineered mice that can talk.

Bonus Myth:  Albert Einstein failed maths at school.

Told to stupid kids to make them feel better. It's not true in the slightest. Einstein was a genius. Even at school.

Albert Einstein himself responded to this rumour and, after kicking the guy in the nuts, he replied, "I never failed mathematics." He then kicked the guy in the nuts again and went on, "Before I was 15, I had mastered differential and integral calculus and the ninja art of nut-kicking. I just don't own a comb."

Extra Bonus Myth:

Transcript of a radio conversation between a United States naval ship and the Canadians off the coast of Newfoundland.

Americans: Please divert your course 15 degrees to the North to avoid a collision.
Canadians: Recommend you divert YOUR course 15 degrees South to avoid a collision.
Americans: This is the Captain of the US Navy ship. I say again, divert YOUR course.
Canadians: No. I say again, you divert YOUR course.
Americans: This is the aircraft carrier USS Lincoln, the second largest ship in the United States Atlantic fleet. We are accompanied by three destroyers, three cruisers and numerous support vessels. I demand that YOU change your course 15 degrees north, that's one five degrees north, or countermeasures will be undertaken to ensure the safety of this ship.
Canadians: This is a lighthouse. Your call.
