HISTORY FUN FACTS - OCTOBER 6th

On This Day in History in 877, the Roman Emperor, Charles The Bald died.

Charles The Bald was King of West Francia, King of Italy, and Holy Roman Emperor.

He was also King of the Hairless Men. In fact, for some strange reason of irony, Charles The Bald was actually really hairy. Like a gorilla.

On This Day In History in 1582, as yesterday, October 6th didn't exist in Italy, Portugal, Spain and Poland.

On This Day in History in 1951, Will Keith Kellogg died of a massive heart failure at the age of 91 in Battle Creek, Michigan.

Will Keith Kellogg, better known as W.K. Kellogg, was the founder of the Kellogg Company, which produces quite a few popular breakfast cereals.

But did you know:
Kellogg's Cornflakes was invented to stop masturbation.

On This Day in History in 1773, Louis Philippe I, King of the French, if not France, was born.

You probably think that didn't sound right, but you'd be wrong. He was never King of France, instead he proclaimed himself King of the French.

This had something to do with what happened during and after the French Revolution.

Louis Philippe was forced to flee France during the French Revolution to avoid what happened to most of his family. As in, imprisonment and execution. His father, the Duke of Orleans, didn't run fast enough and Madame La Guillotine had her wicked way with him.
